The Pause ~ Promises of Someday

by Sandy

"Catherine is ...” Vincent paused, hesitant.

More than I knew to dream of, he thought against images of Twain’s Mississippi. More than I thought possible. A winding river, boyhood adventures ... away ... always away. Always with me.

The wide waters narrowed and faded into the distance.

My life, my love ... my home.

Everything.

A Helper? he smiled.

"... more than a Helper."

Oh, Sandy...'more than I knew to dream of' is simply beautiful. And 'always with me'...wow. She takes him away...she remains where he is...love is quite amazing, isn't it, as you've shown us here. Thank you for this...and I saw your wonderful video at Brit's blog and had to enjoy it twice! Thank you for that, too! Nancy

Nancy, comments from you are always so nice to receive. I'm in awe of your poetry, so that you would find anything I write beautiful makes me very happy. Brit's posted my video on her blog? How sweet of her. I'm glad you enjoyed it. As always, Nancy, thank you for reading (and watching), you're the best.

"away ... always away.  Always with me." I think this is my favorite line of the project! Love it, love it, Sandy. :-)

Nancy stole my words again! I love that passage more than I knew to dream of. Just love it.

They're so steadfast, aren't they. You paint them as if they stand on some rocky point along that river, hand in hand as we pass in awe. Beautiful, Sandy.

Vicky, Carole, Thank you! My first thought, when I was trying to imagine what he would think, faced here this question and with Devin returned, was she stayed.

And, that the wildest imagining of young boys couldn't have prepared him for this.

Big hugs to you both!

"... Always with me." And she is! She is Everything! But how to convey this to an Unknown Devin? You convey the rushig thoughts in his mind's eye so beautifully!

Oh, Sandy. The images of the inconstant river against the image of constancy---Catherine and her love for Vincent. How wonderful this is. :)

"More than I knew to dream of" and the river analogy - so beautiful and spot-on! Leave it to our vid-maker to give us such a perfect visual! Love it!

Away, always away. Always with him.

Sigh.

This is wonderful. It feels like the tide - flowing, carrying hope away from Vincent ... and yet back to him again.

I still find it hard to believe you haven't been writing longer. This is simply beautiful.
